How much does mesh WiFi installation cost in Brisbane?
Our mesh WiFi packages start at $349 for a 2-node system fully installed, including equipment and setup. A 3-node premium system is $549, and larger homes or business setups start from $799. All prices include the hardware, professional installation, NBN integration, speed testing, and a handover walkthrough. If you already own mesh hardware, installation-only starts from $149.
How many mesh nodes do I need for my home?
As a general guide: 2 nodes cover up to 150m² (typical apartment or small home), 3 nodes cover up to 300m² (standard 3-4 bedroom home), and 4+ nodes for homes over 300m² or multi-storey layouts. Wall materials matter too — concrete and steel need nodes closer together than timber-framed Queenslanders. We'll assess your home and recommend the right number during the site survey.
Does mesh WiFi work with my NBN connection?
Yes, mesh WiFi works with all NBN connection types — FTTP, FTTC, FTTN, HFC, and Fixed Wireless. We connect the primary mesh node to your NBN modem (or replace the router if your ISP-supplied one is underperforming) and position satellite nodes throughout your home. Your NBN speed plan determines your maximum speed — mesh ensures that speed reaches every room.
Will mesh WiFi improve my internet speed?
Mesh WiFi won't increase the speed of your NBN plan, but it will dramatically improve the speed you actually experience in far-away rooms. If you're currently getting 20Mbps in your bedroom on a 100Mbps plan because of distance from the router, mesh can bring that back up to 80-100Mbps. We test speeds in every room after installation so you can see the improvement.
Is mesh WiFi better than a range extender?
Significantly better. Range extenders create a separate network, cut your speed in half, and cause devices to cling to weak signals. Mesh systems create one seamless network, maintain 80-100% speed at each node, and automatically hand off your device to the strongest node as you move. The only advantage of range extenders is price — but the poor experience usually isn't worth the saving.
Can I keep my existing WiFi network name and password?
Yes. We can configure your new mesh system with the same network name (SSID) and password as your current WiFi. This means all your devices — phones, laptops, smart home gadgets, printers — will reconnect automatically without needing to update settings on each one.
How long does mesh WiFi installation take?
Most installations take 60-90 minutes. That includes the site survey, setting up the primary node, positioning and configuring satellite nodes, connecting your devices, running speed tests in each room, and showing you how to manage the system. Larger homes or business setups with 4+ nodes may take up to 2 hours.
Which mesh WiFi system do you recommend?
